Jim Davies - Consultant Solicitor

Jim Davies specialises in domain name law. He also provides advice on internet law, trademark, copyright and other intellectual property matters; as well as dealing with commercial litigation and some company law.

Jim has represented both claimants and defendants in domain name disputes. He is very experienced in the Nominet DRS Disputes and Appeals; as well as in ICANN UDRP Disputes and also in related Court cases.

Recent reported ADR cases have included the bounce.co.uk DRS Appeal, verbatim.co.uk DRS Appeal, ireland.co.uk DRS Appeal, myspace.co.uk DRS Appeal, oasis.co.uk DRS Appeal, and perthracing.com UDRP.

Jim's background includes studying both science and law at Cambridge, followed by a postgraduate computing course at Keele University. He trained at Holborn firm Monier-Williams, where he was spent much of his time helping to secure the landmark "Elderflower Champagne" passing off Appeal Court decision. Jim left legal practice to run an IT security company, before returning to work as a consultant solicitor in the specialist field of domain name disputes and internet law.

Jim is married with three children under 6, so his family accounts for most of his spare time. He is an active cricketer and also a keen Welsh rugby supporter.
